Introduction
Doyenne MedTech UK Ltd has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking in all its forms. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships, and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in our supply chains.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Although Doyenne MedTech UK Ltd falls below the £36 million annual turnover threshold that triggers a statutory obligation, we have chosen to publish this statement voluntarily, reflecting our commitment to ethical business practice and our responsibilities as an NHS supply chain partner.
Our Organisation and Supply Chains
Doyenne MedTech UK Ltd is the exclusive UK distributor for Surgnova Healthcare Technologies (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd., a Chinese medical device manufacturer. We distribute advanced surgical devices — including powered endoscopic staplers, ultrasonic scalpel systems, and electrosurgical platforms — to NHS trusts and private healthcare providers across the United Kingdom.
Our principal supply chain tiers are:
- Tier 1 — Surgnova Healthcare Technologies (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd. Sole manufacturer; subject to regulatory audit under CE/MDR and UKCA frameworks including ISO 13485 manufacturing site compliance.
- Tier 2 — All Aces Couriers (Banbury). UK logistics and distribution partner; Carbon Neutral certified, Euro 6 fleet.
- Tier 3 — Professional services. Legal, insurance, and compliance advisers operating in the UK and Ireland.
As a newly established company with two directors and no employed staff at the time of this statement, our direct operations carry a low inherent risk. The principal risk area is our upstream manufacturing supply chain in China.
Policies in Relation to Modern Slavery
We have implemented the following policies to support our commitment to combating modern slavery:
- Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy. Sets out our zero-tolerance approach and applies to all persons working for or on behalf of Doyenne MedTech UK Ltd.
- Supplier Code of Conduct. Requires all suppliers, including Surgnova, to uphold fair labour standards, prohibit forced and child labour, and comply with applicable laws in their jurisdictions.
- Whistleblowing Policy. Provides a confidential mechanism for anyone to raise concerns about modern slavery or human rights violations without fear of retaliation.
All policies are reviewed annually by the Directors of Doyenne MedTech UK Ltd.
Due Diligence Processes
- Supplier screening. All new suppliers are assessed against our Supplier Code of Conduct before engagement; existing suppliers are reviewed annually.
- Contract terms. Standard supplier contracts include obligations to comply with all applicable laws including those relating to modern slavery, and rights to audit compliance.
- Regulatory verification. Surgnova's products are CE-marked and UKCA-certified under EU MDR and UK MDR frameworks, which require manufacturing site compliance with ISO 13485.
- Ongoing monitoring. We review public reports and regulatory filings relating to key suppliers for any emerging labour practice concerns.
